Configuring the US Robotics 8003 Router for DHCP
The Web-based configuration utility can be used to change the settings of the Broadband Router. A brief description of these settings is provided below.
Start up and Log in
Open an Internet browser and enter the Broadband Router's IP address.
The following is the default IP address of the Broadband Router:
http://192.168.123.254
After the connection is established, you will see the Web User Interface for the Configuration Utility. There is no default password for the Broadband Router, so just click Login.
There are nine main menus for the Broadband Router: Status, Toolbox, Primary Setup, DHCP Server, Virtual Server, Access Control, and Miscellaneous Items
Click on Primary Setup
Make sure it says Dynamic IP address next to 'Change'
If it does not, click on the 'Change button and change
it to show Dynamic IP Address
Note: Do not select Dynamic IP Address with Road Runner Session Management
Click on Save
Click the 'Enable (Auto-reconnect)' box
Click Renew IP Forever:
This feature enables the Broadband Router to renew the IP address automatically when the lease time is half, even if the system is in an idle state. This allows for always-on connectivity
Click on Save
Click on logout
