The instructions below will help you set up a dial up connection in Windows 2000.
- Click Start.
- Click Programs.
- Select Accessories.
- Select Communications.
- Select Network and Dial-Up Connections.
- Click Next.
- Double-click on the Make a New Connection icon.
- On the first wizard screen, click Next.
- Select United States of America from the pull-down menu.
- Type your area code.
- If you normally have to dial a number to access an outside line, such as 9, type the number in the second text box.
- Select Network and Dial-Up Connections.
- Select Tone dialing.
- Click OK.
- In the Phone and Modem Options window, highlight your location.
- Click the Edit button.
- Review each of the tabs in the Edit Location window to ensure that the settings are correct for your location.
- Click OK. You can now connect using a dialer such as Netscape or Internet Explorer.
