The instructions below will guide you through the removal and addition of icons and shortcuts to your Windows XP desktop.
To delete icons from your desktop, follow these steps:
1. Right-click on the icon that you would like to delete.
2. Click Delete.
3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the file.
Note: This does not uninstall the program that is affiliated with the icon.
To move icons from your desktop to another file location on your computer or network, follow these steps:
1. Right-click on the icon that you would like to delete.
2. Click Send To.
3. Select the folder you would like to send the icon to.
To add icons to your desktop, follow these steps:
1. Right-click on an empty spot on your desktop.
2. Click Properties.
3. Open the Desktop tab.
4. Click Customize Desktop.
5. Select which icons you would like to view on your desktop.
6. Click OK.
